Ssh using a shared public key works as expected on the laptop and the server, but the desktop always requires ssh login by password despite adding the remote public keys using ssh-copy-id. I am having a peculiar problem with ssh on my home network. ![]() Leaving this up in case someone else has similar trouble in the future. I removed group writable from my home directory and ssh now works as expected. The issue was my home directory on the desktop was set to group writable I'm not sure how or why that happened, I must have touched it at some point.
